Jagyuru is a building near old inn like Gwanpungheon. It's about 79m away to east from Gwanpungheon. It has 3gan in the front and 2gan on the side. It's built using round pillars on the natural foundation of the first layer. Wooden stairs were built on the first gan on the left to go up here. Sin, Sukgeun, the county headmanof Yeongwol, built it in 1428(10th year in the reign of King Sejong) and called it Maejungnu. However, as Danjong composed Jagyusa and Jagyusi about his banishment and suffering here on the tower, people started calling this tower Jagyuru. In 1605(38th year in the reign of King Seonjo), a great flood demolished it, and a commoner's house was newly built on its lot. In 1791(15th year in the reign of King Jeongjo), Youn, Saguk(1728~1809), the governor of Gangwon-do, rebuilt it and enshrined poems of Danjong as he was inspecting Yeongwol.
Gwanpungheon, the office building of Yeongwol inn, is located about 700m away toward Donggang River1gyo from Jungangno, Yeongwol-eup. It was built with the inn in 1392(1st year in the reign of King Taejo). In June 28, 1456(2nd year in the reign of King Sejo), Danjong moved here from Cheongryeongpo in his banishment because of a flood. In October 24, 1457, Danjong was put to death by drinking poison Wang, Bangyeon, the governor of Geumbu, brought by the command of King Sejo here. The front door of the inn where Gwanpungheon is was called Baekunru(It's called Gwanpungru in Gangwondoji.
