Donggang is a beautiful place where people and nature are harmonized. To celebrate the harmony, a festival is held during summer. In front of the water fountain in Yeongwol-eup, a small music recital is held for tourists and citizens. Also, leisure sports events such as hang gliding, paragliding, blades, rafting and such are held. You can catch trout and golbangi with your bare hands in Donggang as you are camping.

Raft Festival of Donggang
Raft was the major transportation method in Aprokgang, Dumangang Rive, Hangang. Namhangang was especially important because it was the important place where woods of Yeongwol, Jeonseon, Pyeongchang area were shipped to Seoul. Every year, in the late July or in the early August, at the edge of Donggang of Yeongwol, various events such as watermelon seed record contest, 'drinking rice wine fast' contest, concert of summer night are held as old rafts are reenacted. It was held for the first time in 1996, and now it became a major local festival.
